The ONLY way I've seen people influence government in recent years is with local government. When people organize locally, and show-up en masse to city commission meetings, sometimes the people get what they want. I've seen this approach being successful among people who want to stop cell towers from being installed in residential areas. It doesn't involve voting. It involves standing-up and using our voices.

Usually - I haven't seen to the contrary - in order to use a service or especially apps or websites, one needs to agree to the terms. So if one doesn't agree one can't use it so most people just click "I agree" without bothering to read it. On some medical papers or non online agreements one can still cross out parts and then sign or agree to the parts one wants. Not sure how they upload that
