Truth; An Endangered Species

Truth is an endangered species. We should have put it on “the list” years ago.

This is the reason for Reinette Senum’s Foghorn Express. It’s an attempt to keep freedom of speech, a vulnerable species, alive and to able propagate once again.

Recently, I learned that to create a genocide a “classification,” or scapegoat must be identified. The next step is the destruction of freedom of speech; the firewall between freedom and tyranny. Once freedom of speech is destroyed, then the scapegoat is targeted and exterminated. Are there many more steps in between such as discrimination, dehumanization, symbolism, and persecution? Yes. But it’s the freedom of speech, of the press, and the right to assemble that are the ultimate bulwark.

Generally, truth is unpopular because it is unnerving. It scrambles our brains, splays us open, and leaves us feeling vulnerable and unsettled. But to do anything short of examining our assumptions, narratives, and belief systems, we are doomed to repeat history.

This is why I write, campaign, interview, testify, advocate, and tell the uncomfortable truths. Not to intentionally make myself unpopular and controversial, but because it is our last line of defense.

So plan on going on some deep dives with Reinette Senum’s Foghorn Express. I will explore the unexplored, but I will be kind, however. I won’t leave you deflated and desperate and will pepper my newsletter with solutions and steps on how to recover and restore our fundamental rights & freedoms, and this beautiful planet of ours. And it is ours.
