California's forests are under attack. California and other US forests are on the docket to become America's next "bio-fuels," and billionaire Bill Gates and company are gearing up. There is a massive push for airlines to be on renewable fuels known as "bio-oils" by 2050, and our forests have become the fodder for this "stump to pump" scheme. This exploding carbon capture market is entirely at the expense of our neighborhood forests and is currently underway unbeknownst to communities throughout California.
This story comes to you by super sleuth Kathryn Saari, who has done a remarkable job in exposing a complicated web that is putting our US and California forests at immediate risk.
How did we go from planting trees to cutting them down and “sinking” them to save the planet?
UNMASKING THE AGENDA
Behind the facade of climate change and warm and fuzzy-sounding forest restoration initiatives lies a disturbing truth orchestrated not only by billionaire Bill Gates but also by various investors funding interconnected NGOs, trusts, and alliances. Under the guise of thinning 70 million acres of California forest for climate change and fire safety, Kodama Systems Inc, a company funded by Gates climate tech venture capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, is cutting down California's healthy trees for a massive Ponzi scheme benefiting silicon valley and beyond. The biomass harvested, including rounds, is then either used for renewable energy projects or buried to "store" carbon and sold as credits to major corporations like Alphabet (Google) and Meta (Facebook), Stripe, and Shopify to create a "carbon neutral/net zero" facade for the "greater good,' while stripping communities of their beloved forests.
Despite claiming to be a California business, Kodama Services has no physical office in California but rather an I-address (virtual address) in a Staples store on Sanguinetti Rd in Sonora, California.
Kodama's 6.6 million in "Series Seed" funding for the carbon capture venture from Breakthrough Energy Ventures also includes Congruent Ventures, MCJ Collective Fund, Alumni Ventures, and Blue Ivy Ventures. This complicated pool of investors raises questions about the broader network supporting Kodama's “sustainable” practices.
ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION FOR FINANCIAL GAINES
In addition to the seed funding, Kodama has secured grants from CAL FIRE and Frontier Climate for the "forest thinning" and carbon removal projects, creating a complex and deceptive financial web. The involvement of Yale Carbon Containment Lab in a biomass storage pilot project further underscores the intricate relationships shaping Kodama's dubious operations. This combination of funding sources and partnerships deepens concerns about the transparency and intentions of the entire initiative that the public needs to be made aware of.
Founded by Bill Gates in 2015, Breakthrough Energy serves as an umbrella organization focusing on accelerating carbon capture efforts, an unproven scheme currently raising environmental concerns in California under the guise of addressing climate change.
Beyond funding Kodama, Breakthrough Energy invests in various startup companies exploring nuclear fusion, large-capacity batteries, and microbe-generated biofuels. Recent news reveals a Bill Gates-backed private-public fund preparing to invest in clean-tech projects worth as much as $15 billion, further highlighting the extensive push of Gates' initiatives upon the American public.
The intricate interplay between Bill Gates, Breakthrough Energy, Kodama Services, and various investors underscores the environmental concerns and massive financial gains to be made in the forest carbon shell game. The need for transparency, accountability, and a thorough investigation into these practices becomes imperative for ensuring the integrity of initiatives purportedly aimed at climate change and forest restoration.
MAPPING INNOVATION
Carbon capture companies like Yosemite Clean Energy are gaining momentum.
Yosemite Clean Energy is developing a network of biofuels plants that are part-owned by the forest communities and agricultural communities they serve. Company staff say the company is at various stages of development planning on biofuels plants across the state of California. Yosemite’s first plants will utilize 90,000 bone dry tons of wood waste per year, enough wood to support approximately 5,000 acres of sustainable forest stewardship per year.
EXPANDING BIOFUELS TO CAPTURE LIVING FORESTS
It’s not just Gates and friends who are pursuing our forests; in January of 2023, Yosemite Clean Energy received $1 million from the California Department of Conservation (so much for conserving our forests) to turn forest biomass (aka living trees) into carbon-negative biofuels in Tuolumne County, California.
This map is a great starting point for those interested in exploring the carbon capture/biomass/forest resiliency projects in their own neck of the woods.
