Really, really interesting discussion. And that architecture!

Thank you for the history.

OT in a sense, but my first paying job as an actress in NYC was in a play called "Stage Door" which we performed in 1976/7 at one of the theatres on the grounds of the 1964 World's Fair in Flushing Queens. Playwrights Horizons, an established off broadway theatre had taken over operations at the Queens venue.

It was a fun play, and of course very exciting for me as a young actress starting out.

Not sure how long Playwrights kept up the operation in Queens. Not long as I remember.

I just looked up the history of how it all came together in 1964. YIKES. Enormous planning.

Has anyone on the site every been to a Worlds Fair? I never knew how elaborate they were.
