Also note: I just learned about RIDL = Release of Insects with Dominant Lethal (genes). It's the "upgraded" method of the old SIT (sterilized insect technique). Keep your eyes on all proposed releases of insects by your local vector control district. If anything is connected to Oxitec, it's funded by the BMGF and Wellcome Trust.
When these "techniques" are funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation....RUN FAR FROM THEM.
