I read a recent explanation of the $6 billion recently unfrozen in Iran, DT characterized it as a gift from the US to Iran. It is not that. Most of this money is in South Korean banks. Little has been accessed yet. This money is proceeds from Iran oil sales, not foreign aid from the US or others. It is their money. Frozen under international agreements to freeze Iranian assets, recent developments have allowed it to become unfrozen. And there are strict controls on what it can be used for - humanitarian uses mainly. Not for the purchase of weapons. Yes, better cashflow here could free up other cash for Hamas, etc. But it is not quite how that cartoon presented it. And apparently Hamas continues to be funded by Israel via money laundered in Qatar. THe IDF needs an apperent enemy to provide a pretext for its violence.

I read a recent explanation of the $6 billion recently unfrozen in Iran, DT characterized it as a gift from the US to Iran. It is not that. Most of this money is in South Korean banks. Little has been accessed yet. This money is proceeds from Iran oil sales, not foreign aid from the US or others. It is their money. Frozen under international agreements to freeze Iranian assets, recent developments have allowed it to become unfrozen. And there are strict controls on what it can be used for - humanitarian uses mainly. Not for the purchase of weapons. Yes, better cashflow here could free up other cash for Hamas, etc. But it is not quite how that cartoon presented it. And apparently Hamas continues to be funded by Israel via money laundered in Qatar. THe IDF needs an apperent enemy to provide a pretext for its violence.
