I recommend Marjory Wildcraft's Grow System (book and a virtual network) as it's a plan for growing and raising all the food and medicine you need to feed your family - including how many beds you will need, specific plants to grow and how to chickens (eggs) and rabbits (meat.) She addresses the rabbit aspect with great compassion.
I have started to implement the gardening and got 10 laying hens. I know nothing but am learning as I go. I want to grow food for the chickens next. I wish I could connect with a permaculture expert here! I'm going to put the word out.
