Do electric vehicles that don't use gas contribute to highway upkeep? Without paying taxes from buying gasoline, I'm wondering how the electric vehicles contribute to the road maintenance.
I'm still getting reports of long lines here and that the EV charging station installation is not keeping up with demand (plus, it's costly to install the charging stations themselves). It's not only me finding and reporting this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfUJCWRFjig

Jan, that's an excellent question... I don't see how that would be possible. Seems like Tesla drivers may be getting a free "hall pass."
With minimal research, you would have seen this occurred 3 years ago and was resolved in 3 days. They since added more capacity there as well.
For gas tax, more state legislatures have or will introduce bills to add an EV road tax at registration renewal annually.
